April Suites Hotel Review – from $27

April Suites is often said to be the best value hotel in all of Pattaya (or even the whole of Thailand).

This hotel is a 3-star, guest friendly hotel with 79 rooms. It is often fully booked up, especially in the high season with many repeat customers staying.

So I booked myself in and will give you the low down of my stay.

If you are thinking of booking April Suites or another Pattaya hotel in the $20-40 range, make sure to read this website post for more info including essential booking tips:

Pattaya’s Best Hotels – $20-40 a night

I stayed in August 2016, and paid 1275 baht for a 32 sq. m. deluxe room booking just one day before staying. I thought it was good value, but I would probably opt for the smaller room option if staying again.

April Suites is guest friendly, so there is no extra charge to bring back a lady friend.

The location is really quiet at night, as it’s at the end of a small alley. It’s a 3 minute walk to Soi 7 & 8 and second road where you catch the baht buses is just 1 min away. The beach is about a 5 minute walk.

My room was big, clean and everything worked. The aircon was so cold that I ended up having to turn the temperature up and on light.

TV was good, with Western cable channels available.

14+ plug sockets available in the room, probably the most I’ve ever seen!

No kettle or tea / coffee facilities provided, but you can apparently request a kettle.

Big fridge, good for staying long term.

Free WIFI was good and there were no connectivity issues when I stayed.

My room had a very small balcony, good for smokers but you must turn the aircon off when you are out there as it makes a racket.

Bathroom was good, everything worked fine. The free shampoo and shower gel was actually good quality for once and not the cheapest available.

When I stayed in August 2016 they were repairing the rooftop swimming pool area, so it will be fully operational for the high season.

The fitness centre on the roof was not the biggest, having a sauna is definitely a bonus and was unexpected. If you are into fitness you can also use the bigger gym in the sister hotel August Suites not far away.

No place is perfect, I can find faults anywhere and these were the negatives:

No kettle in room
2 single mattresses pushed together for the double bed (not an issue for me)
No 7-Eleven right on the doorstep (they do have a local shop opposite though)
Taxis and Mototaxi drivers often don’t know this hotel (take a hotel card out with you for sure)
It is located at the end of a short alley, which may not be to some people’s liking.

Overall: It’s a great hotel for a great price. Very clean, spacious and functional. The service was also definitely above average. A good location close to the bars but still quiet enough to sleep.

No place is perfect, and April Suites does have a few very minor flaws. But I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it if it falls in within your budget.

Good Vid looks like a really nice Hotel And at about 20 Quid a night that's a Bargain

SweDawgTv says:

I feel like "booking through agoda" is only because they sponsor you. I've heard it's cheaper if you go to Pattaya and bargain the price down, can anyone confirm this?

ZobaK1 says:

Looks nice, where is it ???

HW Prince says:

It's guest friendly for girls, but I had to pay 500 thb for my lady bys guests. I found this discriminatory! Also, I was only allowed 2 ladyboys in my room at one time. Regular girls have no limit as the amount per room but you need to pay 500 thb each after the first 2.
If you are crazy about ladyboys like me stay at the April Suites down the road. They didn't charge me nothing.

I'm a seasoned traveler when it comes to Patts, but I just booked ICheck Inn Nana and D Hotel, based on your BKK112 page…used the provided Agoda link…much easier, down to Earth reviews…love the maps you provided for BKK. Would love to meet for a beer and rate the eye candy 🙂
