Wiki writes about Thai Street Food, “Street food in Thailand brings together various offerings of ready-to-eat meals, snacks, fruits and drinks sold by hawkers or vendors at food stalls or food carts on the street side in Thailand. Sampling Thai street food is a popular itinerary for visitors, as it offers a glance of Thai cooking tradition. Bangkok is often mentioned as one of the best place for street food. In 2012, VirtualTourist named Bangkok as the number one spot for street food — the city is notable for both its variety of offerings and the abundance of street hawkers.

Wiki writes about Patong Beach, “Patong refers to the beach and town on Phuket’s west coast. It is the main tourist resort on the island of Phuket, and is the center of Phuket’s nightlife and shopping. The beach became popular with Western tourists, especially Europeans, in the late 1980s. Numerous hotels are located there and the area has expanded into a tourist Mecca… Patong Beach is famous for its nightlife and 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) beach that runs the entire length of Patong’s west side. Nightlife is centered in two main areas, Bangla Road and the “Paradise Complex”…”

Wiki writes about Phuket, “Phuket (Thai: ภูเก็ต, [pʰūː.kèt] is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. It consists of the island of Phuket, the country’s largest island, and another 32 smaller islands off its coast. It lies off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket Island is connected by the Sarasin Bridge to Phang Nga Province to the north. The next nearest province is Krabi, to the east across Phang Nga Bay… Phuket Province has an area of 576 square kilometres (222 sq mi), somewhat less than that of Singapore, and is the second-smallest province of Thailand.

That is one happening place, the variety of food is truly impressive! I'm not a huge seafood fan, but the selection they have there looks amazing. Some of those shrimp or prawns are massive. The meat skewers are more up my alley though, I could definitely do with a few of those right about now 😃

Jonathan Winton says:
