It’s definitely possible to eat cheap and travel on a budget in Thailand. There are plenty of very affordable Thai restaurants and street food is another cheap food option. You’ll find Thai restaurants everywhere and Thai street food on many street corners in Thailand, as well as at every market, be it in Krabi, Phuket, Bangkok or Pattaya. Thai food markets are certainly one of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all over Thailand, you’re never far from one. At the markets you’ll find so many Thai dishes on offer and there is heaps of cheap food here, and it is so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it nearly daily for almost 5 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!

Great tips there Darren, and the food looked great. The touristy restaurants do tend to have higher prices but still much more cheaper than in the west and much nicer too.

Darren, up here in North Bangkok a food court meal will run 30 – 50 B. Thats a complete meal. I have a couple of favorites.
They treat me like royalty. If you wanted to, it would be easy to eat out for the day in this area on $3-5 U.S. I've found that theres no real rhyme or reason for pricing. … For instance (food court) whole skinless, boneless fried chicken breast is the cheap cut @ 20 B around here, but of course it's not a tourist area. As for me, I like your authentic Thai videos. I feel like a slime going into tourist areas and I think you may share some of that sentiment.
