Yesterday we travel from Bangkok to Koh Tao by bus and ferry. The entire over land journey between Bangkok and Koh Tao took about 15 hours. We got on the bus in Bangkok around 6 p.m. and we arrived on the island of Koh Tao around 10 a.m. the next morning.

The entire journey cost us around $20 each… If you’re looking for the cheapest way to get between Bangkok and Koh Tao, this is probably you best option. However, if you value you time, I would highly recommend flying from Bangkok and then taking the ferry to Koh Tao.

Our journey included several random stops, including a random bus station in the middle of the night, getting dropped off in the middle road, and arriving at the ferry pier at 4 a.m.. It was definitely one of our hardest travel days.
