Nice video. I first did that journey in the early 1990's and you described the train journey perfectly. In fact the train is exactly the same as back then. And yes that view after sunrise as your train clickity clacks thru rice fields and little towns just waking up is soooo memorable. That said when you have experienced it once, next time spring for a turbo prop plane from Bangkok to Samui and get there in just over an hour not 18 hours or so. Gotta pull u up on your pronunciation sweetie. The Thais pronounce "th" as just "t" so Nathon sounds like "Natt-on" and Surat Thani sounds like "Surat-tani." Which all makes perfect sense if u think about it, otherwise you would be travelling in "Thigh-land" 🙂
